Peek-a-boo

Little Nib is a great traveler. I can pack her up, and away we go! Generally in the car we listen to mix CDs, sing some songs, she reads a few books, babbles and has a snack or two. We've been riding like this pretty much from day one. When she would not nap I would throw her in the car and magically she would fall asleep, somedays it was the only thirty minutes of peace I would have in a day. I look forward to our drives, clears our heads and makes us ready for the next adventure.

So LN and I were driving this morning running errands. Not an altogether unusual scene. We're singing away to the Juno soundtrack when I realize that it's gotten kind of quiet back there. I'm on the freeway so I can't really look back to see what's going on. I ask LN what she's doing and I hear a riot of giggles. Hmmm, this can't be good. So I pull off onto my exit and slow down for the light. I finally turn around and start giggling myself. LN has taken my stinky gym shirt from my gym bag and has it draped over her head. She laughs and laughs and then pulls it down and says, "Peek!" You see, there's a mirror on the back of the seat and LN has been playing peek-a-boo with herself and finding herself the most Hil-a-rious person ever. I am pretty sure that she could play this game for hours, but unfortunately we had to go into a store.

It's moments like that that make me super happy to be a Stay at Home Mom. The moments that show LN blossoming into a brand new person, discovering the world and enjoying herself. She makes me laugh so hard! Makes up for the nine months of pregnancy, year of no sleep/nursing and the no nap days. Almost.

What makes you break out into giggles?
What makes your day?

Confession #1

I don't fold and put away my clothes. Really, you'd think by the time I graduated from college, got married, bought a house and had a kid that I would be able to take care of myself. But no, there are still a number of things that I can't seem to get the hang of. Like laundry. Well, that's not true. I actually don't mind doing laundry. Washing and drying clothes is no big deal. (Let's not point out that a machine takes care all of it...shall we?) Even un-organized me has a day that I do laundry. Monday. Now granted, it is Tuesday and the first load went in about twenty minutes ago, but hey, I did bring it downstairs yesterday! The washing machine does it's job, the dryer theirs. So the laundry is done, it's been brought upstairs and I pile it on the bed in a overly idealistic display of domesticity; where it sits all day until the guy goes to bed and pushes it onto the floor. Now, if it's started out to be a good day, the pile will end up o

Five Things Friday- Summer Drinks

Hello good peeps!  It's currently 79 degrees in sunny Minneapolis and I think it's high time I shared my favorite summer drinks with you.  Whether you are chilling on a patio, sipping around a campfire or simply sitting in front of your A/C, here are five tasty, cool, refreshing drinks for your  pleasure.  What about you?  What do you imbibe in the summer? Moscow Mule :  I had this for the first time at the beginning of summer and it is just about perfect.  Ginger beer (not ginger ale), vodka and lime come together to form the most refreshing drink you can have on a patio.  Sweet, spicy, with a nice little kick. Surly's Cynic Ale :  A light colored ale with a nice kick at the end.  I could drink pints and pints of this brew.  It's the ideal beer for a back yard BBQ. Arnold Palmer :  Part tart lemonade, part sweet iced tea.  Love this combination in the summer time, especially in the afternoons!  Nothing like a little caffeine kick to get you through the rest of a

A Giveaway, A Giveaway!

Well fellow inter-friends, I was going to post today about my experience with the Wii Fit. However, upon looking at my post number I realized that today was post #95. Which means that I get to announce the nifty little giveaway I have planned for post #100. Giveaway you say? Oh yes, just keep reading folks. I'm not going to get too introspective and sentimental today. After all, I have to leave myself something to write for the hundredth post. I'm excited that I made it this far. When I started out I really, really hoped that I'd actually write in this space and feel motivated enough to keep writing here. And I do! I like having something to do everyday that is for me, and really (sorry to disappoint you) only me. We can discuss this at more length next week, when I've actually made it to one hundred. So, the details. I want to know more about who you are. Yes, you! The people that come and read my stuff everyday. Or every week. Heck, if you're just pa
