The Weekend- Aug. 15-16


Well, the PGA is in town, as is the Big Cheese's twin brother and that adds up to a lot of time for the Little Nib and I to fill. But luckily the weather is warm, the sun will be out and we will be out and about. Here's a sampling of what we'll be up to:

Saturday:

  • Breakfast with a dear friend, early in the morning before she heads to work. Hopefully some place where we can sit outside. Although then it may be hard to contain the Nib.
  • Heading to North Mississippi Regional Park (a great park) and meeting another PGA widow and her two boys. Should be a blast. LN loves to run in and out of the pool...and the showers, well, mostly the showers.
  • Heading up to Grandma's for a little one and one time. Maybe dinner and then catching up with the Twin Cheese.
  • Reading some more of My Life in France, by Julia Child. I'm headed to see it at The Heights theatre with my lovely lady friends on Monday, so I should finish the book before then.
Sunday:

  • Breakfast with the family before the boys head back out to the PGA. Maybe at Keys, a truly yummy spot.
  • Handing LN to Grandma so I can do finish up some painting I've been doing upstairs. Painting is hard work, made even more difficult with a 15 month old running around.
  • After nap and LN being returned headed to The Lantern Lighting Festival at Como Park/Zoo. Been meaning to go for years, this may just be the weekend to do it.

    Sounds like a fun weekend!

    I'm going to breakfast with my dad and brother tomorrow morning, then working in the afternoon. Sunday I think I'll just relax!

I don't fold and put away my clothes. Really, you'd think by the time I graduated from college, got married, bought a house and had a kid that I would be able to take care of myself. But no, there are still a number of things that I can't seem to get the hang of. Like laundry. Well, that's not true. I actually don't mind doing laundry. Washing and drying clothes is no big deal. (Let's not point out that a machine takes care all of it...shall we?) Even un-organized me has a day that I do laundry. Monday. Five Things Friday- Summer Drinks

Hello good peeps!  It's currently 79 degrees in sunny Minneapolis and I think it's high time I shared my favorite summer drinks with you.  Whether you are chilling on a patio, sipping around a campfire or simply sitting in front of your A/C, here are five tasty, cool, refreshing drinks for your  pleasure.  What about you?  What do you imbibe in the summer? Moscow Mule :  I had this for the first time at the beginning of summer and it is just about perfect.  Ginger beer (not ginger ale), vodka and lime come together to form the most refreshing drink you can have on a patio.  Sweet, spicy, with a nice little kick. Surly's Cynic Ale :  A light colored ale with a nice kick at the end.  I could drink pints and pints of this brew.  It's the ideal beer for a back yard BBQ. Arnold Palmer :  Part tart lemonade, part sweet iced tea.  Love this combination in the summer time, especially in the afternoons!  Nothing like a little caffeine kick to get you through the rest of a

A Giveaway, A Giveaway!

Well fellow inter-friends, I was going to post today about my experience with the Wii Fit. However, upon looking at my post number I realized that today was post #95. Which means that I get to announce the nifty little giveaway I have planned for post #100. Giveaway you say? Oh yes, just keep reading folks. I'm not going to get too introspective and sentimental today. After all, I have to leave myself something to write for the hundredth post. I'm excited that I made it this far.
